OC Alerts is a mass notification system that is a partnership of Orange County, the towns in the county and Orange Water and Sewer Authority, which provides service to the Carrboro and Chapel Hill area. OC Alerts is on the Everbridge platform. It is separate from the Town of Hillsborough's utility billing system. 

Alerts can be received via phone calls, text messaging and email based on locations you care about. You can choose to receive notifications about events that may affect your home, workplace, family's schools and more.

The information you provide will be used only for emergency notification purposes. We will not give or sell your contact or location information to any vendor or other organization.

Subscribe at OC Alerts to receive emergency notifications such as water and sewer emergencies, evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods, and missing persons.

The mass notification system is separate from the Town of Hillsborough's utility billing system. Alerts are sent based on the address provided in the account. Make sure addresses and contact methods are up to date.

To receive water and sewer alerts from the Town of Hillsborough:

1. Go to Subscriptions when registering or confirming your OC Alerts account.
2. Go to Community Alerts.
3. Select “Hillsborough water and sewer.”

Note: Orange Water and Sewer Authority provides service to the Carrboro and Chapel Hill area.
